Continue when nobody listens
The poem begins with the repeated instruction to walk on alone if no one listens to one's call. The speaker refuses to let silence or rejection stop a person from following a meaningful path.
Speak when others are silent
If everyone turns away or is afraid, the individual must open the heart and speak out honestly. The poem presents moral courage as the ability to act even without public support.
Face the thorns
